OUR PURPOSE
Viking Books (www.VikingBooks.org) is dedicated to bringing old, forgotten
and out of print Viking, Icelandic and Scandinavian books, myths, legends
and sagas back to life.
But having said this, we are also in negotiations with a major book whole-
saler to bring you the most recent Viking-themed books as well. Please
bear with us as we get this arranged.
We are in no way connected to books published under the Viking imprint
which is owned by Penguin Books®.
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE PUBLISHING FOR CHARITY
VikingBooks.org is owned and operated by Abela Publishing (www.AbelaPublishing.com) a social
enterprise publisher. By this we mean that we republish old, forgotten and out of print books which
are at least 90 years old. Because the books are out of copyright, Abela Publishing passes at least
33% of the profit from every book sold through this site to charities and schools. We will also do this
for any new books we sell as well.
OUR NAME
ABELA is the Zulu word for “share or distribute” which we believe is quite appropriate for what we
are doing. Abela Publishing and VikingBooks.org are owned and operated by John Halsted.
